Top 5 top5 entries for Darrens Top 5 Group Writing Project
How’s that on mentioning the top 5 in a headline? Had to read it 5 times myself to understand if I wrote it correctly, well almost. Here is my entry for Probloggers Top 5 group writing project. Because the theme behind the theme is to connect to other bloggers, I decided to do just that. So here it goes, in random order:
- My Top 5 Favourite WordPress Blogging Tools by Geoff
This was the first one that I just had to read. As I am new to blogging, I like to learn everything I need to know as soon as possible about optimizing my blogging. Several items of his top 5 were already in the book, but Mint and Feedburner. The stats software has to wait (allthough it looks very promising), because I have to finish this post. But the Feedburn feed has been initialized. Thanks Geoffry! - Five Super-Duper Easy Ways to “Green” Your Life by lornadoone
The ’super-duper’ got my attention in the first place. And then the ‘Green’ had me head over to this site and read the entry. My own blog is just about making money online. But I do intend to start a blog about creating a better world, and all the ways and efforts that can lead to it. greening your life is one way of doing this. Nice top 5 miss ‘O-my-goodness’. And maybe take my Nr. 6 at heart too
- Achieve your dreams by Jesse D.
No ‘top 5′ in the title, but still attractive enough to get a click. Achieving your dreams is plain hard work and keep believing in it at all times, my first guess was. OK, after reading this post I know this:
1. Determination: hmm, have to work on this, I lose faith quickly when succes seems to knock on someone elses door
2. Accountability: letting the whole world know with a blog and such a post might be enough?
3. Time: with a family and loads of work, finding time to blog is hard. Maybe I can learn to live with less sleep …
4. Work: seems to state the same as 3
5. Fun: Yepper, gotta have fun with this or it won’t work. Blogging is fun, but with some more comments it will be mucho more fun. - Top 5 Reasons to Join a Blog Network by Steve Remington
It’s all about community, isn’t it? Connecting, connecting, connecting. Gotta learn how to, or this blog will never live. Joining this top 5 contest was a step too. A good read, but I missed some links to good Blog Networks. The one link to Outsidehub.com had very little content. Anyone can recommend some? - Top 5 Tips to be the next Darren Rowse by Robinson Go
Actually I expected this post to be a cheap way to get favored by the Top5 jurors
But what Rob was writing made sense, allthough it didn’t sound all too authorative, yet, but honest it is. Thanks Robinson, and keep going, you might end up with that sportscar after all.
This top 5 is very arbitrary of course. I didn’t have time to read all top5 entries. So the selection was done on a very intuitive basis. I didn’t want to choose 5 entries just about making money. The fun part of such a contest is the diversity of all entries, reading something totally different then all those posts about Adsense or SEO or making money online. That will be my job again after finishing this post.
Thanks Darren, for creating a community project to show us the real power of blogging, the web and, well, lets call it ’social marketing’ !

Thanks for the link-through: not sure that you’ll have much luck impressing the “jurors” since the prize is given out by random. But I like your list - you’ve sent me off looking at the other 4!

I think this is biased. You should have mentioned this is the top 5 of the first batch for the group writing project submission
good list anyway!
Cheers.

I almost wrote an entry with the topic title! I was thinking of creating a blog called The Top 5 so the post could be called The Top 5’s Top 5 Top 5 entries to the Top 5 contest. Now I don’t have to bother.

Nice top 5 top 5 list, Marc.
Thanks for the comment on my top 5 post. Your URL didn’t post properly on my blog, so I’ve added a comment linking back to this specific post.

I’ve liked learning some techy stuff, and I’m short on time with work, my blog and the family so it helps to have someone highlight a few.
Speaking of the boys, check out their review of the music festival we went to this weekend. It’s at my blog. Now that I think about it, they didn’t have much to say about the music, but there’s plenty about bras and crawfish!
